Xiaomi introduced the compact flagship Xiaomi 13
December 11, 2022 was the presentation of the new flagship Xiaomi 13 from the Chinese company Xiaomi. As part of the presentation, we were shown two flagship models: Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. We will review the technical specifications of the base model Xiaomi 13.
During the presentation, the flagship Xiaomi 13 was constantly compared with the iPhone 14. This is due to the fact that both smartphones are compact flagships. According to the manufacturer, the flagship Xiaomi 13 surpasses the iPhone 14 from Apple in many ways.

The case has a glossy metal frame with flat ends. There are two options for the back panel to choose from: glass and nano-leather. The body of the smartphone is waterproof according to the IP68 standard.
The diagonal of the AMOLED E6 display is 6.36 inches, and the resolution is 2400 x 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 413 ppi. Other display specs include support for a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG. Peak display brightness is 1900 nits.
At the presentation, Xiaomi paid special attention to small frames: 1.61 mm (top and sides) and 1.81 mm (bottom). For example, the iPhone 14 has a 2.4mm bezel on all sides.
Performance is provided by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which has a liquid cooling system. Therefore, under load, more efficient heat dissipation is ensured. The amount of RAM is 8 or 12 GB (LPDDR5X), and the internal memory is 128, 256 or 512 GB (UFS 4.0).
The 4,500mAh battery supports 67W fast charging. From 0 to 100%, the Xiaomi 13 smartphone charges in just 38 minutes. Supports 50W wireless charging: from 0 to 100% in 48 minutes. There is also a 10W reverse charger.
The main camera includes three modules:
- The main sensor is 50 MP (Sony IMX800). Supports new HyperOIS stabilization and equipped with 7-element Leica optics;
- 10MP telephoto with OIS. It has 3.2x optical and 30x hybrid zoom.
- 12 MP wide-angle module with a viewing angle of 120º.
The 32MP front selfie camera supports 1080p (30fps) and 720p (30fps) video recording. There is face recognition technology for unlocking.
Among the additional technical characteristics, it is worth highlighting the presence of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 modules. An NFC chip is also provided, which can be used as an electronic key for a car.
The price of Xiaomi 13 in China is 3999 yuan for the 8/128 GB modification.
